Don Bosco Sunday School

Chethipuzha Sunday school has a rich history since the foundation of chethipuzha ashram.In 1884,the religious studies centre was started at chethipuzha.Don Bosco was canonized in 1934,which celebrated the 100th year of religious studies classes.The Sunday school was named after this and came to be known as Don Bosco Sunday school . In 1968,when the chethipuzha church was granted parish status,the Sunday school has become the best Sunday school in the diocese under the leadership of blessed catechists,sisters, brothers and vicars .

Bible nursery

The Bible nursery which has been operating since 2015 for children aged two and half to five years has already received special praise from the parish. The children are trained to memorize Bible verses and are given the opportunity to perform the words they have learnt during the annual celebration of the Bible nursery and the art evening at the church service.

 

Altar children alliance

The altar children alliance works in parish to train active participation in altar services. About 50 childrens are active members of this group. Special training and instructions are given to the members on every Saturday.

Mission league

Mission league is actively working in chethipuzha Don Bosco Sunday school.This organisation was named after saint kochu thresya. This organisation give importance to spiritual growth and material activities of the child missionaries. Many childrens are active members of this.This is working under the leadership of honourable sisters and teachers.Their activities includes cleaning the church and helping the poor . Through Bethlehem meet and prayers meeting they are growing spiritually.

 

Yuvadeepti

Yuvadeepti is a youth organisation working for spiritual and cultural progress with the thought that the future of the church and the world lies in the youth. A group of young people between the ages of 15 and 30 years are the members of this organisation.Activities like taking care of needy and sick , reacting against social evils, sensitising the people through seminars,camps and prayers groups etc are included.

Pithruvedhi

Chethipuzha branch which was established in 1994 conducts classes on every second Sunday after the holy mass on 8:00am. The meeting is held by respected persons. The organisation also carries out activities like handling over surplus medicines to the red cross society, visiting patients at their home and hospitals and buying medicines for them . On the death anniversary of Saint Joseph (March 19) they distibutes midday meals to patients the changanasserry Taluk hospital and actively participates in the activities of the parish.

Mathruvedhi was started in chethipuzha parish in 1983. It has grown to be recognised as the best unit in changanasserry phorona today. It’s active members meets once a month under the chairman ship of directorate . Prayers, reading of gospel, explanation of gospel, reading of the report, discussion of activities and attendance are the proceedings of the conference.The organisation has done many things regarding social scienes.

Mathruvedhi kunanthanam unit

Mathruvedhi kunanthanam unit was formed on 3rd July 2008 under the leadership of fr James thayil .It was decided to hold the rosary at 11am on the first Thursday of the month, followed by organisational prayers and meetings. The activities of the unit are sctivaby providing financial assistance to the needy patients and buying groceries for the needy on the occasions of Christmas and easter, giving priority to charitable activities.

Dalit catholic Mahajan sabha(DCMS)

Dalit catholic Mahajan sabha has been working in chethipuzha parish for more than sixty years. In early days it was under the supervision and protection of CMI it was known as avasha catholica Mahajan sabha and later it was knows as harijan catholica sahajana sabha . Now it is known as dalit catholica sahajana sabha (DCMS) . The primary unit of this organisation is the chethipuzha unit. This organisation works with special attention in all spiritual, social and educational matters of the dalit catholic community. Chethipuzha Unit has 95 families and almost 438 members . Scholarships are given to the children who have passed class 10 th and plus two.The scholarship was given with the intrest of the money given by former vicar Antony kakkanat of Rs.5000 and fr Antony elamthottam who gave Rs.25000.

St.Vincent de Paul Society – Sacred Heart Conference

The work of the organization started in 1954 under the name of Secret Heart Conference in connection with Ashramadevalaya. The conference now has 26 active members and around 600 assistants. In 1968, when the Chettipuzha Tiruhyadaya Parish was formed, SS. Became known as the H Conference. The Parish Vicar acts as the spiritual advisor of this conference. Vincent Society members visit the bereaved and the sick in their homes and hospitals to offer help and comfort. It meets every Sunday at 0.30 a.m. in the Samaj Hall under the chairmanship of the President. After the prayer, the report and calculations are presented. Then the applications received are discussed and a decision is taken to provide possible assistance to those who are eligible. After the meeting, visits are made to adoptive families and other families who provide assistance and provide them with the help they need.

Koonanthanam St. Joseph’s Conference St. Vincent de Paul Society

The St. Vincent de Paul Society has been functioning at Koonanthanam Chapel since 1-2-1991 in the name of Father Joseph. Every Sunday after the 7 a.m. Divine Liturgy, weekend meetings are held in Koonanthanam Chapel to evaluate past activities, discuss future ones and make decisions. Every month 7 needy families are given food assistance, 5 families receive medical assistance, educational assistance for a deserving and intelligent child and other assistance is given on special request.

The Legion of Mary

Chethipuzha Tiruhyadayanatha Presidium The Legion of Mary Thiruhyadayanatha Presidium has been functioning uninterruptedly for the last 60 years in Chettipuzha Tiruhyadaya Parish. There are separate prayer groups for men and women. Koonanthanam Chapel also serves as the center for both. The Presidium of the Sacred Heart was established in 1947. Meetings are held every Sunday after the 6 o’clock Mass. Visiting hospitals, visiting the sick, leading those who are reluctant to live a sacramental life, and leading prayer groups are all their duties. The members lead all the Bhakti movements in the area.

12) Legion of Mary – Kunanthanam

A Chettipuzha Parish branch of the Legion of Mary was founded on 6th March 2001 at Koonanthanam Chapel by Reveren Fr. Anthony Kakkanatta, former Vicar. Currently 18 people are actively working in this organization. The goal of the Sangha members is to stand with the Holy Virgin Mary to spread the Kingdom of God. They work towards this goal through various good deeds. Every Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 we meet in the chapel to recite the Rosary and the prayers according to the rules of the Legion. Members conduct house visits, hospital visits etc., pray for the sick and provide confidential financial assistance to the deserving.

CHASS – Chethipuzha Unit

Chas Chethipuzha Unit has been active in the parish since 2007. The activities of Changanassery Diocese Social Service Society at the level of 9 women’s groups, 1 men’s group, 1 farmer’s club and 305 cr dit union members are being carried out in the parish. Credit unions mainly accept deposits from members. Community organizers appointed for the purpose carry out the collection. Loans are given to groups for self-employment. Chas has a committee consisting of people from different castes and religions. Apart from these, seminars, camps, awareness programs, Haritagram projects, Save a Family are implemented and charity activities are led.

AKCC – Chethipuzha

AKCC Chettipuzha Unit is actively working to meet the internal and external challenges faced by AKCC Chettipuzha Church as per the directives of Diocesan State Committees. Care is also taken to provide leadership in social and cultural local issues.

Atmatha KCBC Anti-Alcohol Committee Chetipuzha Parish

 Anti-Alcohol Committee has been working actively since 2010. As an association of non-alcoholics and non-alcoholics, we lead anti-alcohol activities at the parish level. Meets in church on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 4 o’clock for a prayer for alcoholics. Ours is the first participation in the Diocese in all parishes prescribed by the Archdiocese. People who are addicted to drugs are brought to drug free centers. Personal contact is established with them and arrangements are made to procure medicines from Atmatha office. About 25 members are working in the organization. Thomasukutty from this parish as the State Secretary and Lovely Maliekal Archdiocese Jo. Also works as secretary.

KCB for workers working in unorganized sector C. Working under the auspices of K.L.M. Commenced on 22nd August 2012 at Chethipuzha Parish. KLM Shepards, Emanuel, S.H. had 20 members each, according to the Archdiocese’s rule that the organization should not have more than 20 members. Three units (of men) were formed. KLM for the activities of self-help groups, welfare funds etc. for the workers. Giving leadership.

Deepika Friends Club – Chethipuzha Unit

Vs. The Nasrani Deepika was first printed on 15 April 1887 at the press established by Chavara Kuriakos Eliasach in 1846 at Mannanath. Since 1972, the daily publication started and continues its journey of victory under the name Deepika. According to the proposal put forward by the Bishop’s Committee to resolve the weakness in the promotion of Deepaka in recent years, Deepika Friends Club was formed on December 6, 2015 under the leadership of Reverend Paul Thamarassery Achan, who was the vicar, and a committee consisting of representatives of 14 wards of the parish was formed on December 6, 2015 in order to encourage Deepika to be brought to all the homes in our towns and provided. Those who take the lead in this will try to increase the number of Deepika subscribers in the wards, collect subscriber numbers and help deliver news, events and news to the Deepika office.

Tobit Forum Chethipuzha Unit – Death Relief Fund

On October 10, 2015, as a result of thoughts and prayers for parishioners to be able to act as a helping hand to the dying families of the parish, Hon. As a result of the efforts of Paul Thamarassery Achan, a cremation support group called Tobit Forum started working in the parish community. Tobit Forum currently has 1200 members. 30000/-as grant money of Rs. and provides bereavement services.

Tiruhridaya

Gayasangham Before and after 1968, Chethipuzha had excellent choirs that were suitable for Thirukarmas. Now four choirs are actively leading the tirukramas here. Also, the children’s choir participates beautifully in the Sunday School Mass. A choir is functioning under the leadership of Sunday school children at Koonanthanam Chappel.

Public Relations-Jagratha Samithi of the Changanassery Archdiocese

Changanacherry Archdiocese PR. The Vigilance Committee Unit has been functioning in our E Tawaka for the past 2 years. It was not possible to organize elaborate programs due to the covid crisis. The challenges faced by the church and the movements are discussed together from time to time and counter-problems are held. News of all activities and deeds of the parish is given for publication. The parishioners are informed about the minority benefits in relation to the Diocese Vigilance Committee. It has been decided to conduct free career orientation classes for the help of expert teachers for the personal development of the children studying from class 5 onwards. Family groups

Since 1996, family groups have been working in Chethipuzha Tiruhridaya Parish. On the third Saturday of every month at 3 p.m., Hon. A meeting of community leaders is held under the chairmanship of the vicar. Leaders are working on collective projects as per the instructions given. 52 congregations are functioning in different parts of the vast Chethipuzha Parish. Communions are held every day of the month except Friday. Ward Conventions are held every year and an Inter-Vaka Day is held in connection with it. Family gatherings help families to bond more and individuals get to know each other. Dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our parish is guided by the Sacred Heart Novena on Fridays and prayer groups on other days to God’s grace.

Catholic Association of Businessmen (CAB)

CAB is an association of businessmen of Chethipuzha Parish. On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, after the 6am mass, CAB members gather together in the small church to pray, get to know each other, and share their business perspectives and experiences with each other. The duration of this meeting is only one hour. All businessmen of our parish are specially invited to this meeting. Every monday wednesday thursday under the patronage of CAB. Businesses of our parishioners are ventured every morning. Those wishing to venture into business establishments should contact the CAB officers or vicars.
